Oh Tony, now I must dream up a witty and biting rejoinder, something unique, something to dazzle even the great scribes of antiquity. Now, let me think, oh, can't scratch my head I might get a splinter. Hmmm, Ohhh, Errmmmm - eureka, I have it, F@*% off!
I'm going for a kebab.

Welcome all newbies, Hi Tony you have indeed shamed me to reply.
Have been checking in but just been unable to think up anything to say lately, yes, for me that is drastic Couldn't even find any good jokes.
DSW you clearly check in too, an apt and typical greeting can see you're still OK
Come on newbies, bring on some new ideas, games, discussions etc to help liven up all these old regulars.

Hi Tony.. I have never heard of künefe and unfortunately I don't live near anywhere that I can get Turkish food. What is it might I ask? Is it something that one could easily try at home?

Hi Tony,
That looks delicious!!! But you're right - very bad luck to have few Turks around. My wife is a chef, however and she is pretty adventurous. She makes a delicious creme brulee. Maybe I'll have her try it out.

QC (this time i prefer the shortened version too, GT ) if your wife manages to make it, don't tell me, i may die due to frustration.
The girl i love can't even slice a tomato, if i hear a non-Turkish woman makes good künefe, i can't bear that (:
And hi, Tamara.

If my wife works out a good recipe for künefe she will certainly share it (with everyone but Tony - as I don't want him to die of frustration). We looked up the ingredients and they are readily available at our local grocer. Nothing too exotic at least in the recipe we found.
Now I just need to convince her that she should spend the hour and a half it takes to prepare it! We'll see how it goes.
-QC (yes, that does have a nice ring to it)

i think the cheese used in the künefe is an unique Turkish one. but, perhaps any kind of cheese containing no salt can make use.
and what's more, the girl i love read the "...can't even slice a tomato" thing, i'm in a bit trouble now...
good luck (:
