There are several translations of the famous:

While the source is widely recognized to be verse 64 of the Tao Te Ching.

I too have found it hard to work out exactly what is work was, due to all the defferent translations of his meaning (versus) He is said to have written 80 or more versus.

He was a man who in one book I have read said that he did not speek and no one knew his real name "Lao Tzu" means Old Man or something like that which is the name he was given, and that he lived in isolation. It has also been written that Confusious once visited him.

Yet I find his work fasinating to say the least and maybe because of all the mystery about him. I would like to know more about the man they call Lao Tzu.
