Why should you take life seriously?

Hmmm... I don't know.
It just seems necessary at times. At other times, it seems complete UN-necessary.

If you were to consider that heaven is all about bliss, pure joy and happiness, it would make sense to take life on earth seriously but that is if you have the paradise in mind.

I completely agree.
"In light of heaven, the worst suffering on earth will be seen to be no more serious than one night in an inconvenient hotel."
— Santa Teresa de Jesús
Even so - let's not consider the afterlife. Life still calls for a serious attitude, at times. Relationships... Hardship... death... And - by the same token, those same things also require a light heart, at times, as well. At least, that's how I see it.

I believe life needs balance. As Tommy pointed out some aspects do require seriousness, but life also needs joy, creative imagination, humour, times of relaxation and company of friends.
The gentler times that bring fun and laughter, and smiles later when you remember them.

Exactly so, oh favourite repast of the koala bear.
We do, however, cater well for those who loose that balance. Nice places where the sunlight has stripes, the walls are soft and the drugs are free.

The drugs are free?! Sign me up, koala bears or no koala bears.

Gumtree,
Such a fun-loving and beautiful woman you are. You have a lot of fans, and I'm one of them.

Thank you Anajo, for a lovely compliment - I am quite sure you and I would get on very well if we could ever meet and much laughter would follow. It is really good to have you back regularly for spice and support
