What makes a good listener?
Someone who focuses more on what who they're listening to has to say than on what they, themselves, have to say.

Is there such a thing as "active listening"? How can I know that one is a good listener?

Perhaps "active listening" is when the hearer takes the trouble to understand and interpret what is actually meant behind the words being said.

good listener: someone who doesn't prepare for a counterattack- actually Anajo and DSW left us nothing to say.
best listener: she who understands.

Ok. Second question:
Bill and I are having a conversation, but we have two different opinions. We mentioned that a good listener does not simply wait to talk. Rather, he intakes everything being said. But, how do I intake everything Bill says without bias?

Depends on importance of difference and strength of bias.
If you already know you may disagree, before you start your conversation try to think of common ground on which you may agree and be prepared to start out from there.
If your difference just arises in the conversation give yourself time to review what has been said before you reply and see if your bias is truly justified.
Easy to suggest, hard to follow!

True. Easier said than done.

A good listener asks questions after you talk and then it's your time and turn to listen when he talks.

Per the Wikipedia link:
Quote: She has been praised by many individuals, governments and organizations; however, she has also faced a diverse range of criticism. These include objections by various individuals and groups, including Christopher Hitchens, Michael Parenti, Aroup Chatterjee, Vishva Hindu Parishad, against the proselytizing focus of her work including a strong stance against contraception and abortion, a belief in the spiritual goodness of poverty and alleged baptisms of the dying
