It's so tough to watch what happened yesterday, what comes to mind while glued to the news is the film 2012. It's possible after all. My heart goes out to the Japanese people for this latest nature's revolution and i never thought to witness such natural tragedies in my lifetime, both awesome and troublesome. Your thoughts?

That was indeed horrible!
Yeah, it also reminded me of the same movie.
Just thinking if 2012 is really the end of the world.
Hope not!

Just don't know what to say - so many dreadful things happening New Zealand, Libya, Japan. Feel so incredibly sorry and yet unable to help in any practical ways. All the aid we can send isn't going to bring back what's lost.

The world can only take so much. Everywhere now, there is turmoil and upheaval. Japan's devastation is indeed almost apocalyptic. No amount of modernization and power in the world can withstand the old nature's might. We cannot change the world, only nature can.

or, we changed the world and the new nature will change us now.
pity, Japanese whom i admire, are often seen as the best example of a determined and modest nation in my country, so my sadness is twice: people suffered from such a catastrophe and that people were Japanese...

And despite all that they went through, the Japanese remain calm. No hysterics seen, no looting inside shops, no heavy drama. Only order, grace and kindness for one another amidst the unimaginable catastrophe and bereavement surrounding them. We ought not wonder why they are first world.

Hi fullmom welcome to the Forum
I do agree with you about the reaction of the Japanese people to their terrible and multiple disasters. Compassion and community spirit often come to the fore during disasters, but understandably there is often panic and anger too. The Japanese have just carried on tirelessly doing all they possibly can in any and every way they can find to try and stop or minimise further damage.
