Who is much happier? The single person or those who are attached to that special someone?
Some people prefer living solo for that commitment scares them off but others can't live without being in love or in relationship. Surely, there are lot of advantages and disadvantages in both cases, right?
What about you? are you single or taken?
And what's your opinion in regards?
Its good to share ...
Libra.

I was single and happy, married and not, single again and happy, married again and happy.

Depends completely on how happy you are when you are attached - when its a good relationship it can be top of the world, but if it's not good you're far better off single.
I've been single and happy, married and happy that changed to married and unhappy, then single and sad for a while, then single and very happy for a long, long time so take your pick!!
Besides, when you're single, you can read all night if you want, spread out over the whole of a queen size bed, choose whatever you want for dinner, cook meals when it suits YOU and eat ALL the soft centre chocolates
PS and stay up late posting on QP ....

I see ... * me thinking thoroughly *
If it is a Good marriage then "Good luck". Bad relationship then "Bad luck" - at random.
OR
Do we still have some control over this happiness in our lives?
Personally speaking; I am single and happy. Then sometimes single and not fully happy. Single and neutral, then single and meditating and may be still contented ...
But you know; when I get single and sad, I ll surely hint this down here

When your dream partner comes along, no matter what the circumstances are, you will find that dream has indeed become reachable and it's all up to you to finally make that a reality. Being single means you have to rely on yourself on almost anything which is a good thing because the sense of independence is a feat in itself but what is a feat without the feet of a partner that gently rub your own when you're flat tired in bed?

Agree or disagree, one can opnly respect those who stand, unwavering, by their beliefs.
Will you not have to cease with the 'herbage'?

Why do I feel nowadays people tend to be single?
Is it commitment that scares them off or lack of love?
Just wondering ...

Simple answer. It depends on the current situation.
Say, if I was alone in a cave, during a post-apoctalyptic hailstorm, soaked with rain, I would prefer to have a special someone to snuggle against.
On the other hand, if I must enter the basement of the White House, unnoticed, and destroy a bomb that would neutralize our nation, I'd much prefer to be alone.
Pick your poison

More people stay single nowadays for a number of reasons. Career, being one of them. The norm was for couples to get married right out of college. A woman was raised to be a housewife. Now, people don't get married until they've stabilized their life after college.
