"Aimer" is an intersting French verb as it can mean "to like" or "to love" depending on the context. The noun for "love" is "amour". To say "I like you", is "tu me plait". If one says, "je t'aime", it means "I love you". But to say "j'aime les aricots verts" means "I like green beans", not "I love green beans"...
