Me too, with smokers. I think, non-smokers naturally have a tendency to criticize or judge smokers, especially younger ones like myself. "Why would you do that? It's expensive; it smells; it's going to kill you" and so forth. And I find I get along better with my smoker friends who get the same treatment, and we're careful to judge others in that way. At least that's the way I feel.

It is a surprise to me every time I think about it, use heroin or any other hard drug and folk fall out of trees to offer help and support. Free needle exchange etc. Addicted to gambling? we can help. Out of all the terrible things folk willingly put into themselves, why is it only smokers are demonised. A legal product by which many small businesses survive, which creates legitimate employment across industries and contributes billions in taxes to our political system. When was the last time you heard of a murder committed to get tobacco? I don't smoke, but I despise the way smokers are treated, compared to those who choose an addiction which supports crime.

Oh sure, let me get right on that.
For me, it's a matter of quality of life versus quantity of money. I like smoking. I like having to leave my desk and walk outside to smoke a cigarette at work. The non-smokers are the ones who work through their breaks and wonder why they're always so stressed out. I like smokers versus non-smokers. I like people who are tolerant. Yup, it's not the greatest habit in the world, but probably the only reason I'll quit is money. If I won the lottery, I'd probably die of emphysema and be smoking on my deathbed.
That, and the fact that I'm stressed and aggravated easily as it is without trying to quit smoking. Other addicts go to rehab to quit their habits, but there are no smoking rehabs. Why? I honestly don't know. Maybe we should start one. Hmm. It would probably be fairly profitable...and if the price was low enough I bet insurance companies would get on board...hmm...
