I'm interested in them... Please share an example of your local folk dances...
Mine is a Circassian one, my dear Mum is of a purest bloodline of "Qabardei" clan of Circassian tribes, so charming is their dances i think...

English folk dance is pretty weird, as you will see by DSW showing the embarrassing Morris, although I believe it has mystic and erotic origins to do with fertility rites.  The Scots have far better dancing to show off.
Here is a hilarious version of the Cornish Floral dance, as you can tell all the local dignitaries have put on their Glad Rags and are joining in with the local band

My favourite is the Aboriginal Dance (:
they look weird, yeah, but i suppose that mine seemed weird to you. But they are not "embarrassing" i think (: and yeah, Scots are cool (:
