Love can make us irresponsible, ignorant, stubborn and immoral. Values are disregarded for the sake of loving someone considered by many as unfit for love. But should we really care?

Passion just means "a strong emotion". It can be applied to hatred, anger or jealousy as well as love, so a passionate love may not be a genuine caring love.

Where there is love, there is passion. My dear friend GT, may i ask you this- when you had this love for special someone before, was it not true that you felt this passion and that it felt so genuinely caring?

Arrow, I would never attempt to deny that at various times in my life I have been irresponsible, ignorant, and definitely stubborn. However, none of these were as a result of love.
I have possibly been immoral - depending on the definition and personal values of immorality and that could be associated with aforementioned condition .

And yes, once upon a time, long long ago, in a galaxy far far away, I did love passionately, but it was with caring and happiness and not either possessively or obsessively.

"Passionate love" I think is a verbose way of saying 'Lust'.

Passion does not make for obsession Arrow, it's an illness.

Thank you for your opinions gumtree and DSW. I just think that passionate love is far from being an obsession because as GT said, it is just strong emotion/s and once one feels so in love, these emotions can really be very intense that loving and liking someone makes it so addicting , albeit and obviously temporary unlike obsession that permeates into one's personality for a long time which makes it an illness.

I don't think what you're describing is love. However to answer your question, it depends. Depends on what you're asking. If you asking if we should care that others consider the one we love is unfit to love; then no, it shouldn't make any difference at all. If you asking if we should care that "love" makes us or the one we love act irresponsible, ignorant, stubborn, and/or immoral; then yes, we should very much care. If you are acting that way i doubt its because of love.

You can have love without passion. There is more then one kind love. Romantic love, much more likely to have passion in it. However, i deeply disagree love with passion always means obsession.



In generally people acting like that other people remind me of children playing with toys. "Thats mine! You can't have it." "I was playing with it first."
