William Boyd's good novel 'Ordinary Thunderstorms'....read it....read 'Restless'...read 'Any Human Heart'....William Boyd is a great story teller.....This might just be one of the better novels you will read this year...along with Amanda Craig's' 'Hearts and Minds'....Audrey Niffenegger's 'Her Fearful Symmetry' and Alice Hoffman's 'The Story Sisters'.....aren't we lucky so many fine writers are hard at work turning out great novels!!!!!!

Are you actually interested in what people are reading or are you just recommending books? lol

oh well it I guess it does sound like I am mostly interested in recommending the good books that I read...but that is not a bad thing is it ???? Sharing !!! Well I wouldn't have thought so ??? Do I sound pompous/a know it all ???? Maybe I am !!!! But hey I often get recommended books from friends too....what about Marilyn French's 1987 novel 'Her Mother's Daughter ' .....and James Hansen's ' Storms of my Grandchildren..The Truth About the Coming Climate Catastrophe and Our Last Chance To Save Humanity'....(2009)..Oh bother.....am I sounding pushy and pompous again !!!!! Shall I shut up and remain silent for a while !!!!!

by Anthony Read. its a fabulous account of Hitlers inner circle leading up to and during the crazed Nazi rule. For history lovers.

Hey duckie, what's the title of the book by Anthony Read that you recommended - you missed it out, unless I just can't see it for some reason? I really enjoy reading history books about Nazi rule especially what went on with the people actually involved rather than just details about the war, which is what we mainly focussed on year after year in school (although I did enjoy that part of it as well).

I'm reading Dan Brown - The Lost Symbol at the moment. I know that there's been a lot of criticism over him but he is an excellent writer and his books are very well researched! Even though I'm still only at the beginning, it's already very engrossing - I would highly recommend it to all!!

Great read so far...just like her other two books.

I just started on Jared Diamond's Collapse. I was convinced to get said because because I very much enjoyed reading Mr. Diamond's Guns, Germs, and Steel.
