Australia is used in many idioms and proverbs in Turkey, for instance, "Further than Australia" etc. But i see that this distant country holds many to discover. And, i think it's name is Uluru,or maybe i'm wrong but i'm sure that you understand what i mean, where's it?

So we won't read of you joining the Turkish Navy in the near future?
I told my boss the other day he should apply for the Swiss Navy.

Arrow, your neat round hills are terrific. Why are they called Chocolate Hills and how come they are so smooth?
Our hills are craggy and rough.

DSW, i don't like armies, since they're involved in politics. i prefer illegal groups who do not get orders from so-called councils etc. (: at all, there's no honour in navy, you just push a button and people die. i prefer an honorable battle, by the strength of arm and courage of heart

I see your Blue Mountains and raise you a Garriwerd.
Soldiers are not political, just their masters.

For a gutsy effort, have a shufti at Prince Andrew's task in the Falklands. Him and the other pilots of course.

 Now THAT'S craggy!
(Re the link How dare they have the Thatcher on it, the only reminiscences should be from the families of the 900 that died for stupid petty pointless misplaced prideful patriotism. Tres Grumpy GT)

Yes I appreciate that, but I always believe you can negotiate something as there must have been something the Argentinians wanted more than a rather desolate island.
Britain had known this was a trouble spot since at least 1975 but didn't really try to do anything until 1980. I have a suspicion Britain probably annexed that bit of land rather arbitrarily in the past, there had often been trouble with Argentina and the islanders had always known they were living on borrowed time.
I just feel so ashamed that such a death toll was basically caused by British incompetence when it should have been manageable.
Sorry, shouldn't have had rant on a happy post like this

anyway, i still think armies of modern era made it less honourable.you know, we had been a nomadic people for centuries, till we settled in Anatolian plateaus(some are still nomads, and i'm proud of my family because they had kept their nomadic traditions untill early 1900s).and nomadic life means "whole nation is army, each invidual is a soldier".
i feel like a warrior, yet i haven't found my enemy to fight, but i'm seriously considering to invade Australia with my comrades, take DSW as prisoner of war and bring him to Turkey, and shout nationalist yells into his ears till he drives mad then, we can go on a vacation to Australia, which is now ours,to meet with girls Gumtree spoke about with such great sense of humour, DSW would be a strong rival at flirting with girls.
