no pets. pets of my family's family, whom i ADORE. it's a total kinship... like, everything that you CAN'T get in a human, you can get in a dog. it's like a psychological thing, that a dog fulfills everything that we don't get from humans. thus - man's best friend.

Always had two or three cats in my home until recently, needed them to keep me in line and ensure their every whim was attended to!

Willow was my last and she was 18 when she decided life was getting too hard and I miss her very much. The house feels empty when I come home and in the mornings, but just now I don't feel like replacing her.

Sometimes I borrow my daughter's laid back affectionate Burmese. She is meant to visit for exercise in my safe garden. This actually means ............ sleep on my bed, sleep on my rocking chair, sleep in the sunny window, sleep in the porch ..............and occasionally condescend to eat.

Why do I have a feeling that girls love to pet cats and guys are into dogs? Just a feeling coz I have a cat too ... am afraid I took a lot from her personality while she keeps the same as herself lol

Do you think its because cats just do exactly what they want and go their own way and are so independent, so we wish we could be the same?

I also love the shape of cats, smooth or long fur and those smart ears, and then there's the incredible elegance and balance of how they walk along a fence, even the chubby ones!

Actually my dear gumtree ... we already do what we want, are independent and dogs have to cope or deal with this, whether they like this fact or not

Yeah here my ancestors old Pharos .. used to worship cats and nowadays cats seem to have never forgotten this. lol

Pets are pets. Lovable and Cuddly. But as far as them understanding human emotions, i doubt it. A dog can be trained but the obedience becomes mechanical so to speak. It wont be able to grasp what you undergo at a certain moment. Thus, whether you're happy or sad, a dog or cat will always and simply be there, eager to play and cuddle with you but not necessarily being there on purpose to comfort you. It's just our minds telling us that they are better company to be with than humans when we feel so alone and lonely. Sigh.

I don't know so much Arrow, animals are very sensitive to mood and atnosphere. It's a survival mechanism.

Yeah animals can be quite strange. I have a pit bull and maybe about to acquire another.It shows how much we stilld on't understand about other species. For example, I believe I have the most playful non-dangerous dog, but just because of his breed or the way he looks, people assume he is a killer. Maybe a bit of breedism? (I know it's a bit corny)
