I was here when i was younger and stupid but that was 5 years ago and under another name which i don't remember.. Mostly on and off though

I think everyone thinks they were young and stupid after looking back five years.

If this is true, then I have the advantage. When I am 24, I will look back on right now and say, "Wow, I was young and stupid. HOW and WHY did I do what I did? And HOW and WHY did I think what I thought?" When I am 24, it could very well be impossible to pinpoint my current (2010) state of mind, my experiences, influences, etc. etc.

That is why I have the advantage. I can look at my life right NOW and know exactly what I will not know in five years.

Which explains a lot, I think, about a lot of stuff. Misunderstood teenagers, overprotective parents, and so forth. Some people have the inclination to understand, some don't.

Not me Tommy me lad, I was far too old, even 5 years ago, to be young and stupid. Now if you'd care to make a slight adjustment, say about 33 years back, all my argumants are countered.

Everyone has had some period of being "young and stupid", I certainly did.

Don't wish to disillusion you Tommy, but you can also be "middleaged and stupid" and "old and stupid", the stupidity just takes different forms!!

As long as you can look back and smile none of it usually matters very much but sometimes you may be horrified at the risks you ran.

I think you have also just twigged that overprotective parents may well be so because they remember what they did when they were young and stupid.
