Hi!
I'm from Poland and I've read a polish version of 'East of Eden'. I really like one quote and now I need it in English but I can't find it anyhow! It was something like: we all take a handful of guilty, like it's something precious. Maybe that's what we want - but I can't translate it from polish to sound right. I know it can be hard to find this qoute, because I don't know what exactly the translator changed - maybe Steinbeck wrote it in other words. But if you read 'East of Eden' and you know this qoute I'd be really really greatful for posting it in original.

Sorry for my English mistakes.
