I would love to write beautiful poetry, but I really don't think anyone would like them. I have never known anyone my age who likes poetry at all. Is anyone young here that loves poetry or someone who could give me some poetry advice?

I'm young (13) and like poetry....What sort of advice are you looking for?

I like simple words because they are mostly true ... go to the heart directly without any complexities.

As for poems, I dont claim to be a professional in this genre however, I can't imprison my soul when its being captured by a thought or certain feelings to come out on papers. I never prepare or study for that yet I find what I wrote spontaneous ... some people like reading much as a matter of being guided by our famous brilliant ancestors who founded our best emotions ever and that's another advantage for starters.

If you love poetry then you have the first flame to light up your way ahead for amazing creation to come. Read alot if you adore being guided or follow your gut feelings and both are true ways to make yourself another unforgetable star!

i'm 13 also. and thank you for the advice. sometimes i just feel like i'm trying to hard to write poetry, but if i wait, it just spills out on the paper.

I agree with everyone, especially Libra, I'm 17 myself so I feel a little left out of the age group, but I highly encourage you to post some of your poems. If you love poetry then your half way to becoming a great poet.

Ok. Here is one that I didn't name yet:

I can see in their blank stares,
that not one of them really cares
I want to tell them how I feel,
to let them know my thoughts are real
just won't go away this deeply etched scar
not simple enough to be washed away by a star
This numbness seeping through me, I want it to go
If these feelings can't stop, they might overflow.

Here is one called Music:

The sound of music floods through my body when I press play
The music surrounds me like a warm, comforting blanket
It drowns out all the voices around me
It drains every other feeling or thought from my mind

There is more if you want me to show it to you.
