The book I found to be boring. Snow Treasure. I had to read that in sixth grade....booooooooooorrrrrrriiiiiiiiiinnnnng!

Animal Farm, on the other hand, I didn't understand because I was 13/14 when I first read it. I'd like to try again.

Catcher was a good book. I think Holden was just curious & missed the little things in life.

I don't think I finished reading Lord of the rings.....that book sucked

call of the wild was pretty bad. pretty much any book that i was forced to read turned out pretty bad.
great expectations is definiately a favorite

I agree that shespeare is over rated. and too boring to read. But one book that I read recently was too boring . Its "The French Lover". Its almost like written by a kid. I read it because its ban in our country.

The Silmarillion. Just such long, long descriptions and history.

Apart from Karen ArmStrong's History of Jerusalem, I have not read any other book on this topic. I liked it a lot. Recommend me some other book on the same topic... but not something like tedious history notes.

I rate literature usually upon what it tries to convey rather than just its style, so my pick for worst book would have to be the souless cash cow that is the Da vinci code. Although it reads well it is meaningless just as its film counter part is as well.

It's true. I wish I'd been smart enough to learn from and remember the books I'd read when confronted with certain situations in life.



I thought the Da Vinci Code was pretty boring. I couldn't give two hoots about the main character and the plot was...meh. I'd heard like a 30 second rundown of the plot from the friend who lent me the book....and, frankly, she didn't miss anything during those 30 seconds. At least, it was a quick and easy read. But I still don't get what all the fuss is about. It was a standard mystery novel + Jesus. I'll admit the monk guy was kinda cool.

I believe books like Coral Island which i read in my childhood were very boring.
and ofcorse Daniel Steel is also a total no...no..

So right - a plea to all who hate Romeo and Juliet - get a copy of Baz Luhrmann's film of Romeo and Juliet (1996) and sit back and enjoy a fantastic production.

The most boring book I've read lately was "American Appetites" by Joyce Carol Oates. It was so long and I just had to finish to see the point of it all, but I can't figure what it was meant to be. If anyone here has read books by this lady and can tell me more, I'd really appreciate it. I'm not game to try another of her books yet.

lol I don't even remember the worst or most boring book I have ever read.

"The Call of the Wild" by Jack London. The dog is kidnapped, trades owners alot, kills the sled-team leader, becomes the sled-team leader, loses the sled-team, and kills the Native Americans who killed his previous owner.

All painfully stretched into 105 pages of over-descriptive torture.
