I just finished reading "The Hours" by Michael Cunningham-and I watched the movie as well. I really enjoyed this book...but you must have a lot of patience, as it skips around a lot.

Caesar....Life of a Colossus. Of course, about Julius Caesar, by Adrian Goldsworthy. It is the newest book on his life and a fascinating one at that, especially if you're interested in ancient Rome.
