For those who have read The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn you know that Huck lies a lot. What are some ways that you can think of that helps Huck get out of trouble? What about ways that lying gets him into trouble?

Mark Twain made me want to become an author.

J.D. Salinger made me want to become an author. And they say that Salinger was the Mark Twain of twentieth-century literature.

Salinger isn't dead; I'm not sure was or is would be correct in that sentence.

Catcher in the Rye is a great book. It's probably on my top five.

Well, since it's no longer the twentieth century, I think "was" would be fine. Although you're right, Salinger is not dead. So either would work.

I read Franny and Zooey.

I like that one. You should read his Nine Stories and Raise High The Roofbeam, Carpenters. Overall, they have the same style, but each of them are good.

And you should read more Mark Twain. XD

Hey! I have read a lot of Mark Twain! Well, not that much. Mostly we read a lot of his essays and the such. The only novel we read in class was Huckleberry Finn.
