"Happiness comes of the capacity to feel deeply, to enjoy simply, to think freely, to risk life, to be needed." Storm Jameson

"All men and women are born, live suffer and die; what distinguishes us one from another is our dreams, whether they be dreams about worldly or unworldly things, and what we do to make them come about... We do not choose to be born. We do not choose our parents. We do not choose our historical epoch, the country of our birth, or the immediate circumstances of our upbringing. We do not, most of us, choose to die; nor do we choose the time and conditions of our death. But within this realm of choicelessness, we do choose how we live." Joseph Epstein

"True knowledge exists in knowing that you know nothing." Socrates

"It seems my 'normal' and your 'normal' are two different things." Crim from .hackSign

"All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us." Gandalf from Lord of the Rings

The last temptation is the greatest treason: to do the right deed for the wrong reason.

Sometimes people carry to such perfection the mask they have assumed that in due course they actually become the person they seem.

I kind of like a piece of what Al Gore wrote in an e-mail to everyone who had signed "The Pledge" on the website for Live Earth. Perhaps not an all-time favorite but really good anyway :)

"The climate crisis offers us the chance to experience what few generations in history have had the privilege of experiencing: a mission; a compelling moral purpose; a shared cause; and the thrill of being forced by circumstances to put aside the pettiness and conflict of politics and to embrace a genuine moral and spiritual challenge."

I have two favorite quotes and they're both from Voltaire. I chose them simply because of the the strong belief in freedom of speech and the satrical view on life.

"I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it."

"It is forbidden to kill; therefore all murderers are punished unless they kill in large numbers and to the sound of trumpets."
