how would you persuade Macbeth of not going ahead with the plan to kill king Duncan?

what would you say?

I personally will use the same stragey Lady Macbeth will use but use flattery. Include his manhood and the guilt feelings he will incounter.

It couldn't be done without changing the play.

Shakespeare's point was that Macbeth couldn't be dissuaded from his murderous rampage. Somewhere well into the play Macbeth says, "my eternal jewel stolen by the common enemy of man", that is, his soul would be lost to the devil. Macbeth knew what he was doing, but he did it anyways.

Someone who doesn't know what he's doing is not responsible for his actions. But Macbeth had no excuse.

I think nobody and nothing persuade Macbeth about murdering. Cause his soul is stolen by evil and he can do what his power ambition says...

Along those lines, how could Hamlet have been altered to make it work for the fellow?

Are there only comedies, farces and tragedies?

Shakespeare in Love had the right idea - a happy ending - a love story.

Hamlet not dieing but getting the bad guy through subterfuge or a sting operation and I'm not being facetious. I don't know enough about Shakespeare to know if he went beyond these three somewhat limited groups.

Hamlet is about man's uncertainty of what he should do. Hamlet delays and delays about avenging his father's murder. At one point, he considers suicide: "To be, or not to be."

He philosophises all the time. He wastes time putting on a play. He pretends to be mad. Finally, he kills the king, but is himself killed. He dies saying, "... the rest is silence", that is, he doesn't know what the next life will be. If he had known more, he might have avoided tragedy.

Macbeth cannot plead ignorance. He knew the devil would get his soul, but he did evil anyways.

somehow i think that would work the best of anything...that or hypnotize the guy and show him what the consequences of killing the king would be for him.

Actually, Macbeth needed a lot of persuading to do what he did. Maybe the better question would be:

How do you ease Lady Macbeth's desire for power?
