It looks like I am fixing to become less wise. The Doctors of Dental Surgery are conspiring to remove my wisdom teeth. I may not be able to post for a few days. They say my widsom is compacted. 8O

The best of luck with that PD! Hope it all runs smoothly. I'm not sure if I had my wisdom teeth ever removed, but I don't have any, and there is no space for any more teeth to grow! Or it certainly feels like there's no more room.

The best of luck. :)

The wisdom of others remains dull till it is writ over with our own blood. We are essentially apart from the world; it bursts into our consciousness only when it sinks its teeth and nails into us.
~~Eric Hoffer (1902–1983), U.S. philosopher. The Passionate State of Mind, aph. 188 (1955).

I think they call them "wisdom teeth" because once you get them yanked out you are probably a little older and wiser.

It looks like I have to get my teeth cut out on 10-2-03. OH HAPPY DAY! They want me to sign this form that absolves all liability to the clinic and the surgeon. The form states that if they screw up then I am just out of luck. AWSHIT! They also said that I am going to be on pain killers and will be in recovery for three days. "Don't worry, you want feel anything but pain."

They say it is better to get this done before the ripe old age of 40. My teeth don't even hurt but they showed me the X-Rays and my lower wisdom teeth are growing sidewise into my other teeth. It don't look good on film.

Hope it went well, Phantom.

I had mine out a few years ago and they were growing sideways (impacted) too. They had to remove one of them in four pieces plus remove a small piece of jawbone to get to it... Ouch!

I am back in the saddle today. They put me under to do the surgery but I was only out less than one hour. My son had to drive me home. We stopped at the Sonic to have a milk shake and then went to the pharmacy. I slept all day Thursday and all night Thursday night. On Friday I was going about my work around the house without much of a handicap. On Saturday I hunted deer and also worked in the yard.
