I admit it. I'm a comic book freak. I sometimes come across
one in a bookstore and if it looks good, I'll buy it. But I didn't
get into the comics until about two years ago, when Devils Due
Publishing put out Richard Knaak's novel The Legend of Huma
in comic book form. Six to be exact. Then I read the novel again.
I just received an adaptation of George R.R. Martin's The Hedge
Knight in graphic novel, and am enjoying it immensely. I also
finished the The Dark Elf Trilogy in comic book form.
Does anyone else read comic books? If so, what genre do you
like?

I love comic books, but I guess I like the comics that you would find in the Sunday paper, not really fighting kinds of books.

I read them extensively. You must read Maus, Jimmy Corrigan and anything by either Grant Morrison or Alan Moore. I'm also into manga - particularly Tite Kubo's Bleach.
I really enjoy DC's Elseworlds. It's the only DC I read. Otherwise a lot of Image and IDW publications. 30 Days of Night and the Luna Brothers' Girls and Ultra are unbelievable.

I never really got into the big Marvel or DC superhero comics, but I always loved the characters in the cartoons and movies and such,
but in other forums that kind of talk would get me yelled at in big bold uppercase writing...
I've been collecting the Futurama comics, and reading both Futurama and Simpsons. I think its neat that the shows branched out into comics. I also think that they might be testing their ground on stories by putting them in comics before they put them in the show, just to see it they'll fly.
And as for the strips, I love those, I read pretty much all of the ones in the paper, except that Dr. guy.
My favorite strips are Mutts, Garfield, Get Fuzzy, Baldo, Bizzaro, Zits, and more recently Lio.
So I guess the genre would be comedic?

As a kid, I enjoyed the Archie comics, but my fav was the Tarzan comics. I used to anxiously await each month for the new one in the series.
