i think i may have to agree with that one. i think it topped Galileo's daughter for sleep inducing potential

Eagle's Gift by Carlos Castaneda. Confusing, boring and pointless. Beyond a doubt the worst book I've ever read. A desperate attempt at originality- achieving only to be absurd.

Well, I disagree with those who criticized the works of Dickens. Personally I... well, not enjoy, but like his books, especially Oliver Twist and Hard Times, as they offer us a window into the hardships of the less fortunate in his era.

Oh, and I LOVED Call of the Wild as a kid- I don't agree that that it's bad.
Jenny said that she hated Gulliver's travels- also one of my childhood favourites, though I read it again later and discovered the underlying social and political critique. :)

I have actually enjoyed a lot of the books that other people didnt like, though i do have to agree that Watership Down never seemed to end! i think i ended up giving it away.

Dickens is so bleak. there seems to be nothing good about his life at all

I LOVED the Angel's Command though the plot did wander. Have you read the new book? It's called Voyages of Slaves. I had a few problems with it but it was good. 8)

Not saying we didn't necessarily like them, just that they were, long, boring, or hard to get through. there have been books that i have hated all the way through till the very last sentence, then i loved it, and i still count them among the worst books i have read because while i was reading them i hated them. If that makes any sense.
