Welcome to the all new Quotations Page Forum, and my apologies for the sudden changeover.
We've switched to phpBB2 for the forum. You'll find most of the functions very similar to the old software, and there are some new features.
The biggest thing you'll notice is that you'll need to register again for the new forum. Also, registration now requires a valid email address. You'll receive a message when you register, and must click the link in the message to complete your registration.
Be sure to read the FAQ and if you have further questions about the new forum, feel free to post them here or contact us by email.
Enjoy the new forum and thanks for reading!

Cool, I made it!
Thanks for all the hard work you've done on this site. I use the random quote and quote search features often, and I've enjoyed posting on and reading the forum.
I've managed to register using my real name instead of my screen name and the program won't let me fix it because my e-mail address is now assigned. This shows I'm not very bright since the instructions were quite clear. I'm just going to leave it that way... considering all the annoying stuff I post on message boards someone's bound to track me down and beat me soon anyway :)
Thanks again for the neat new layout.
Regards,
Lou

Thanks for the comments, Lou - glad you're enjoying the site!
If you want to change your name to the screen name of your choice, send me an email and I can change it.

Why are there notes at the bottom of the page that indicate one can post or edit in this forum?

Just a summary of your permissions here, I guess... it's pretty redundant on a forum like this where you have to be registered to post anywhere and everyone has the same rights on all forums.

Michael, it's a great site, enjoying it immensely.
I have a question, is there an option to use an avatar? Maybe I'm missing something here, but there is no area for this in my profile page.
Thank you.

Avatars are something I turned off a while back because I found them annoying. Since then, though, I've found them very useful on other forums, just to know at a glance whose words you're reading.
So I'll probably enable them soon.

Ok great, I was just wondering about that. I like them, most of the time, as it gives some sort of visual identification to someone, adds to their character, if chosen well, and it's always nice to put an image to someone and their posts.
Some forums only allow images from published websites, which is annoying. It's great to be able to use one of my own images and upload it from my computer.
So I look forward to it!

Just wanted to say thanks. I've used the quotations here frequently for work and assorted other tasks. I have found the site very easy to use.
Thanks,

Just wondering mgm if you are going to enable avatars? like you said, i too find them very usefull to identify with whom i'm talking too, but large ones can be annoying. could you set a limit, for instance, no images larger than 200x200 (just an example)
