The Bell Jar was probably an incredible book but the potential for a child being hurt was enough reason to put it down. Just a phobia.

Dickens' stuff was already mentioned, but David Copperfield made me want to kill small, furry animals.

Call of the Wild all the way. Forced to read it in 5th grade, will be scarred forever.

It all depends how you view it. At first, I thought that "The Pest" by Albert Camus was the most boring book, I had ever read but then one of my professors gave me some pointers and questions to think about and now I think it is actually quite interesting. Most books in my opion can become interesting if viewed in the right context.

Since posting the comment on David Copperfield, I have attempted to read Oliver Twist and couldn't get through it.
So I guess with me it's just a strong dislike for Dickens rather than Copperfield specifically.

cherrypi wrote: OK, this MIGHT be fun(ny)! NOTE: Just cause YOU think it's the Worst/Boring doesn't mean it's a bad book! I'll start: THE OLD MAN AND THE SEA by Ernie Hemingway Couldn't WAIT for the old guy to get back on land!!! Pass the dramamine! p.s. read the whole thing in H.S. back when I used to finish books--like it or not!!!
The title of boring goes to Harry Potter.
The death of his parents seem so cliche
I'd take a thriller anyday,
Over a growing wizard boy and his friends
and a book that seems to never end.

Vanilla, you took the words out of my mouth - "David Copperfield"
A book about the life of the most boring fictional man ever to be committed to paper. I actually forced myself to read the entire book because it is considered "classic literature" and I was convinced that at some point, SOMETHING was bound to happen.

I'll tell ya what I hated was All Quiet On The Western Front. It was UNBEARABLE reading it.
