We Quotemasters (ahem) have been grumbling about people who start threads on the "Who Said That?" forum with subject headings like "Who said this?" and "Need help," instead of giving users a clue to what the thread is all about. And ditto those who enter their queries in the wrong forum.
Suggestion: A prompt that comes up when you click the "New topic" button, offering a little guidance about how to use the site.

I do need to post more information of that sort, I'll see what I can do. In my experience it will still be 90% ignored, of course.

I agree with Mr Fussbudget! Enquiries need a heading related to the topic.
I've just been looking for an old thread about opportunity. It would have been almost impossible to find if it had been titled 'Who said this?'
Subject could be replaced with, say, 'What is the quotation about?'

My idea is a little more elaborate than that and involves a bit of re-programming. It goes like this:
When you click the "New Topic" button you get a pop-up window that says something like, "Please enter the key words of the quote you're looking for in the 'Subject' line." Then to go on with the posting, you have to click an "OK" button.
Is that too much trouble?

Hmmm yea, I woulda thought that would be to complicated.
I think this can be tackled easily by putting a "forum rules" on the top, stating the neccesary rules. Like the title "who said this" is not a valid subject....
Just a suggestion.

The forum seems to be progressing quite a bit. It seems that I am less inclined to carry a topic entirely by myself these days. We need to get Luna back. I don't know what happened to Lou except that maybe he got abducted by aliens. I have not been abucted in quite some time now. (Only oncet.)
About the only anouncment that I have to make is that the Queen Bee has a birthday today. (She was born on Friday 13th and maintains that it was a lucky day. ) We are aiming to go to the Red Lobster and have shrimp and lobster tails. I gave her a card that had a mood ring inside. She was ticked green. Since I bought a new ATV this past spring I can't afford an expensive gift. Victoria' Secret?

Indeed Phanton Delta, you are correct,
you have my great respects for sticking with the forum... through its rough times. And we all know it, soon it will be swarming with people.... people who we "do not know".
and we will reminisce on the "gd ol' days".
Ahh yes, where is Luna? I haven't seen him in quite some time....
