A little hare from the dog that bit me?

There were two little cottontails hopping around in my front yard this morning. You might say that I have some wild hares.

Here comes Peter Cottontail,
Hopping down the bunny trail...

I fixed that one, thanks.

My wife and I saw a rabbit hopping through a nearby front yard the other day, oddly enough. (Not a typical thing around here, we're too close to the city.)

I don't believe I've ever seen a rabbit in Central Park, though there are red-tail hawks there who would be happy to meet one.

But when we lived in Queens, we saw rabbits all the time...also opossums, pheasants, tortoises, and other wild things. And would you believe coyotes and deer are seen from time to time in the Bronx?
