It's not that I cannot understand her...it is just that she bores me to death... I just never really care about the characters enough to make me want to finish the novel (In all fairness, I never did actually finish any of hers...couldn't bring myself to do it)

Augh, let's see....
I hate, hate, HATE books where it's about some kid whose mother dies, and they get a stepmom who they don't like at first, but then eventually love.
*shudder*
Lesse, what else...
Watership Down was just.... boring. I fell asleep two chapters in.
The Angels Command! Don't get me wrong, I love Brian Jacques' books. I even did a book report on the Flying Dutchman. But the Angels Command sucked SO BAD!!!! Did it even have a plot?! I swear, I could not find one.
Beyond the Western Sea by Avi... both books.. Oh gosh, I actually thought they would be INTERESTING!!! *bangs head against wall* Those had to be some of the most boring books that I ever tried to read-
MIdnight Magic, also by Avi. It was alright up until the middle, but then it got all strange and confusing. It seemed like the storyline was going no where! Another boring book that I couldn't ever finish..
Oh yes, and the books I hate the very most, are those that are absolutely perfect until the end. And then you want to strangle the author for ruining it!! (Like I wanted to do after I read the Two Sisters of Bamarre)

I finished reading a western the other day. It was called 'First To Die' by G.T. Dunn, I believe. It was awful. The writing was poor, unlike "West Of Eden" by Mike Stall which was thoroughly enjoyable.

I read Flaubert's Madame Bovary long ago and remember there wasn't a single character I liked or empathized with and found it not to be spectacular in any way. I am revisiting some literature now... may read it again to see if I still think the same.

Ah, it was a little tedious... But I think I've read worse.

oh, it's really good. more stuff actually happens than in waiting for godot, which is more or less four guys standing around waiting. rosencrantz and guildenstern are dead is very similar, but also really funny, and great to see acted out. there's a really good movie version, but i can't remember who did it. zephirelli maybe? nah that doesn't sound right... oh well.

ha ha! What bores one person excites another.
The most boring book I ever read? Well, Moby Dick wasn't THE most boring book I have ever read, but it was pretty boring. And yeah, Old Man in the Sea was a bit tedious, but there were aspects of both books that I enjoyed. Jane Austen, same thing. Some things about her books, I enjoyed, but other aspects bored me.
