I love to paint the sky, and I guess that it is because of the sky that blue is my favorite color.

I have some favorites books, but the one I take and read when I need an old friend is "Thornyhold", written by Mary Stewart.
I open his pages, and immediately I'm in a quiet, soft, comfortable world.
Better than a old armchair.

Cantalupo, I've read Mary Stewart novels for years, so I'll
have to say that the first of my favorites is her trilogy about
Merlin, beginning with The Crystal Cave.
The other is by Anya Seton, and is about a woman growing
up in the 14th century. It's called Katherine, and I read it
again for the third time recently. Wonderful reading.

Raymond E. Feist's "Riftwar legacy", "serpentwar saga" and "conclave of the shadows" as well as C.Paolini's trilogy's "Eragon" and "Eldest". They really allow you to get away from this boring "falling apart" world to jump into a world of magic, much better than Tolkien really.

Better than Tolkein?!
I guess I'll have to read them for myself.

Mmmmmh, Paolini is only a child, in front of Tolkien also.
Another one to read, for me: Ursula LeGuin - Earthsea and so on.....really great, in the same way of Mary Stewart: great attention to the thinking way, for the things you can feel and not onlu touch. the real soul of a book, for me!!
