I was looking in the quotes of the day of today's and I foundthis quote.
"Women should be obscene and not heard" by Grouche Marx
Why s that quote in the database of this great site, and why has it been reviewed and THEN ut in here?????? Just because someone was famous doesnt necessarily mean that whatever they say whether good or bad be publicised, does it???????

maybe it's funny, considering that he was a comedian, but no matter how funny it might seem, it's still so offensive to all women. Check out this site
www.groucho-marx.com/ - 9k
and go to the bottom and check the part that says soe of my favorite quotes, THEY ALL ARE OFFENSIVE or at least I thought so

i found them humorous and are female, but theres not much to say. they are a bit offensive if u don't know that he's a comedian. but then again how many jokes and rude comments do we females make against or about males on a daily basis. i am definitely a feminist but how offensive something is depends on the tone its used in. i guess i simply see both sides.

Some quotes have to be taken in the context of their time. Groucho Marx was hardly known as a prominent feminist, but then again few men were in those days, and precious few women.
We don't pass moral judgment on quotes, we just try to have a good collection of them.

Just because something is offensive doesn't mean it should be removed. If you don't like it, don't go re-read it. It doesn't mean the quote should be censored - it hasn't hurt you, just made you a little angry. Deal with it, reflect on how wonderful freedom of opinion is, and move on.
