I notice that the title “Quotemaster” now appears under my name when I post. I realise that this is a consequence of the number of posts I have sent but;
1. I feel like a fraud being designated in the same manner as Thenostromo, Phaedrus and others who really know their quotes, whereas I am only an enthusiastic newcomer.
2. It may give people the mistaken impression that I know what I am talking about.
PS This is not meant in any way as a criticism of this site or the other users of the forum, both of which I am very impressed by.

Quote: "really know their quotes"
Sadly, I have not become a person that can be described in that way. It has only been over time that I have learned instincts that help me to find stuff on the Internet. But, I sure do appreciate being included in such praise.
I agree with Phaedrus, you deserve it.
Actually what this indicates is that you are quotation enthusiast, and I think that is really what we all are. A lot of people just post maybe once or twice (to come back and say thanks), so if you stick around and post for more than 25 times, you are in the club!

In da club eh?
Interesting thenostromo...
Go Flametree go!!
You're definately good enough to be a Quote Master and obviously a quotation enthusiast.
Too bad you can't tell genders. Oh burn. I'm sorry. I didn't mean it in a mean way. I just thought I'd bug ya about it. LOL! I so love winning. You're a good sport.
I know that if things ever need clearing up or I'm confused (which is often, LOL), people like you and (in no particular order) YinYang, Phaedrus, Farsix, Rimmer, Raven, sigsfried, and thenostromo etc etc are always there. You're all awesome!
Keep up the encouraging posting Flametree!
Peace out!

Thank you for your kind words everyone.
Thenostromo is right. I am a "quote enthusiast" ie keen but with no particular skills - apparently not even that of discerning gender!

I don't know. Sometimes I get in trouble for asking questions. Because I ask too much or ask things that I shouldn't.
But I'm not very good at keeping my mouth shut so I'm often in trouble.
Answers are all I want but they're sometimes the hardest to get. Especially the truthful ones.

Asking questions is always a good thing

THe quote, by James Thurber, I think is intended to me that we get further by asking the right questions that by knowing the 'standard answers' something I think is especially true of science. In a similar vein Isaac Asimov said "The most exciting thing to hear in a science lab is not 'Eureka!' but 'that's funny...'"
EDIT: Also in philosphy the answers are so depressing.

I think something different. There's no point in knowing an answer, if you don't know the question, because answer alone as it is means nothing. Answer is something like a completition of a question. If you know question, you know at least some part, maybe you can answer it yourself and you know whole thing. If you know answer, you know nothing. Just my 2 cents! Don't beat me for this
