Why is there something rather than nothing?

There has to be something, if there was nothing there would be no me, no you (Quite a loss) and no anything.

I wonder about the somethings we value and those we don't.

My friend, please note that everything has a purpose and the purpose, potential and cause behind everything reveals the reason why the Creator brought things into existence and the lesson that was to be learned. One can only fathom or understand the intent and thought behind things by looking at its purpose which shows why it was created. God was always there so therefore there was always something that created all things, remember the Creator is eternal which means something without beginning and without end. Oh! One more thing, if there was nothing then you could not have asked this question because a question is something and it has a definition, by now i know you understand the point i am making...
