I was wondering, We study what we want to be, we choose jobs where we want to work, but after some time why do we not like it and try to find faults in what we choose or the way we work... Why We Humans are never satisfied..................

I know there are several quotes that run along the lines of "No one ever got anywhere with being content" It could be our natural instinct to evolve, just always wanting more. It could also be today's society and it's twisted view of what we need to be content. We get THAT, and then we aren't content, because it's not what we REALLY wanted. Just a thought...

I think the same, everything is connected to evolution. It is deeply rooted in us to want more and more. We want more, and when we get it, we are satisfied for some time and than we want more again. That is natural but sometimes irrational. This causes all the injustice in the world. And generally, a lot of our instinct are irrational in this "modern" times. Also just a thought... :D

I agree with semo, except the injustice. Why injustice? If you deserve more and if you are capable of having more, there's no reason of anything wrong like irrationality or injustice. Just my 2 cents.
By the way, I like this one:

Earth provides enough to satisfy every man's need, but not every man's greed.
~Mohandas K. Gandhi

Rimmer, you are right about what you said. But I just think that it is not fair that some people (for instance Africans) just born and are disadvantaged. And it is also caused by the greed of rich people I think. There are much more other unfair exampels such as war, injustice in school, work, etc.

Rimmer I think your Ghandi quote is sufficent to show that it is this desire that causes many problems. We in the West can get so much tat our desire for more, cheaper goods and our ability to get it is destroying many nations. Africans are now dependant on trade with the west but becuase we pay so little many are unable to feed themselves here we are taking what we want and can get causing injustice.

I don't know the author of this quote, but I know that it fits the subject being talked about here.

If we get everything that we want, we will soon want nothing that we get.

I wonder, what if we stoped inventing things that people could have. New and better things that create the wantingness around us. If in the long run, people would become satisfied with what they have, and not what they could have had, because everything they could have would not be there anymore. No one would be creating it.

Let me know what you think.

Raven,
I am not entirely sure I agree. As I stated in my theory, I believe that there is a natural instinct to have MORE. If inventors quit creating, average joe would take on the task. So I guess that attempting your idea would be excellent for society. It would leave our natural instincts to go to work on the betterment of culture. But quite honestly I don't think that you can stomp 4000+ years of instinct our of a race. I wish we could (ei, alcoholism  , violent tendancies  ) but oh well... :|

You can’t always get what you want
But if you try sometimes well you just might find
You get what you need

Or perhaps;

I can't get no satisfaction
'Cause I try and I try and I try and I try
I can't get no satisfaction :)

That is exactly why I am going to college for more than one job that I'm interested in. Just so I have a variety of jobs I can work in, and not worry about getting board with one.

Simple things

Shafts of sunlight through the trees,
That grow upon a hill,
The first green shoots above the ground,
Simple things are lovely things,
We need no wealth to share.
The monotone of nature's soul
That whispers everywhere!

Satisfaction or not is quite depend on what you thing, just keep everthing simple in your mind, you will find you are easy to happy and satisfied with what you got now!

At this exact moment, yes, I am indeed satisfied.

Wait... no... I'm feeling peckish. But other than that, swell.
