That is a very hard question to answer. My automatic response would be NO of course not, but there are some gray areas. I think that if you are in DIRE need for food and you don't have any money, then you should go to a soup kitchen. But if there are none around then what would you do? I know that if someone came up to my door looking for food I would try to help in any way I could, so why wouldn't they ask for help??? What do you think?

Many that live deserve death. And some die that deserve life. Can you give it to them? Then be not too eager to deal out death in the name of justice, fearing for your own safety. Even the wise cannot see all ends.

You may also consider that not sharing is just as bad, so that a person is forced to steal in order to survive.

You people better wake up. There is no gray area with full awareness. A gray ps an illusion. Curse the person who came up with that term. If you see a gray area it only means that there needs to be more light for one to see clearly. One should never steal.

No one is ever forced to steal. That is a cop out. One who uses his mind will find the answer but the apathetic don't try so they believe that their hand is forced when it isn't.

That Phix is unfair some people (maybe not in the developed world) are unable to work for reasons outside their control. They can get no food unless they steal there only other option is death.

Give me a specific example of when someone has to steal and I will show you why they don't.

I don't actually know anyone who is in this position however that does not mean such people to not exist. I have so far led an extremly sheltered life if we were to assume the only people around where the ones I have met you would have a very odd world view.

I can tell. Get out!

I can't afford to vist the places I would need to. Flying to Africa isn't cheap. I do intend to do voluntary serivce in third world countries after my degree.
Thus while I have had a sheltered life there is little I could do about it.

Why is there little you could do about it?

I can't afford to do anything about it. (Openining sentance) also to add to that I don't really have the time as I do want to get to Uni.

Well thats your choice but to say there is little you can do about it is immature in itself. You have complete control but you blame it on circumstance. Only women and children do this but not men.

Hang on it is not my choice about not having enough money. The Uni bit might not be entirly my choice. Also I am still at school so my parents still have a strong control over my life denying this is ridiculous.[/u]

True indeed! you're missing my point. These are the things of late childhood. As you become a man this will no longer be the case and so shall it be with many things you think.
