What are peoples opinions here of the Koyoto protocol?

Personally I think it dosn't go far enough but with America still denying any climate change problems it would be stupid to make a better one as without America it will certainly fail.

I know I probably sound like an idiot, but what is the Kyoto Protocol? Is it about global warming?

It is the thing most of the world has signed up to to prevent excessive global warming a phenomenan denied by the US government.

You know, up until recently that was one of my biggest points against America, but after reading the book "state of fear" by Michael Crichton I did some reading about the matter and I now truly believe that there is NO evidence to support global warming!
There is a lot of information on this topic floating around the web, so if you want to find out anything more about the topic I would suggest you search for it on google (or any other site i.e. science journals) and read some of the articles (both for and against) and then decide what side you want take.

Don't get me wrong though, it's not that I don't think the Kyoto protocol is a good thing, because it is! Even if the main threat it was intended to counter does not exist it still does a wealth of good to lower pollution levels. No one can say pollution is a good thing, after all we do need clean air to breath

I take it you mean we are not causing the global warming as there clearly is global warming.

What about the recent washington study. Funded by the US goverenment no less despite which conclude that we are the most major cause of global warming. Or the study recently published in 'The Independant' (UK broadsheet).
