What is time????? Is it a straight line, or is it like a tree, sprouting new branches when choices are made? Or is it a circle? When you flip a coin, and it lands heads up, does a new parallel time occur, with it landing tails up? Are there parallel universes. Say, if you decide to do something that could have gone the other way, is a new branch formed?
What do you think? A stright line, a tree, a circle, what??????

I think that time is a tree: It always sprouts new branches when people come to descions. One is made for every choice they have.

I think time is not universal and goes at diffrent speeds depending on where you are.

Interesting idea, sigsfried. I'm not quite sure i understand it though. Could you pehaps explain further?

Quote: I think time is not universal and goes at diffrent speeds depending on where you are. Sigsfried's position is actually Einstein's position. I pesonally think that if Einstein is correct (and he probably is) then time is subjective and depends on perception. Then again, that can't be if you consider the twins. One stayed on earth while the other left on a journey at light speed. When he retured he hadn't aged much but many years had passed on earth. His twin brother was now an old man.

Sorry Phix but what is wrong with the Twin paradox all it shows is how we aren't used to seeing time as variable.

However you think of describing time there is one truth and that is that there is never enough no matter what you are doing although I guess in moments of great trajedy where time seems to slow then I guess you could argue that, but you must take the other side of that argument which is there was not enough time before the trajedy.

I think Time is a Parallel line, having no end and not going to meet at any junction. Time moves with us and we can never catch up with it.

I think that everyone lives on their own line of time, and that these lines and woven together to form a time tapestry almost. Ya know what I mean?
So when two lines intersect, the two people meet in some way, whether they just bump into each other or they get introduced of they simply pass each other on the street and never see each other for more than three seconds in their entire line of time
But thats just my theory

I think time is what we make of it.It is shapeless, odorless, tasteless and useless when we waste it.
But when we are fearless, and try to give meaning to it, it's never hopeless.
The time is always now, for none of us know when our time will run out...

Time is what stops everything happening at once...
... at the moment it isn't working too well.

Time Is
thats it. we can try to define it, set boundries, guidelines, and rules, but in the end, it is beyond true comprehension. it just is.
