Let's lighten things up a little and bring out the philosophical poets.

If you were blind and your sense of touch became so heightened that one day you were actually able to touch an object that summed up your life, what would it feel like?

Would it be rough and jagged, soft and fluffy, or something else (slimy and squishy)?

oooo a nice new question in a nice new post.

Thats a toughy. I rekon it would be hard to bend, but soft too the touch (something along the lines of balsa wood).

But balsa wood is a little too dry and flaky for me. So that would make it a little more wet, purhaps something along the lines of Blu-Tac.

lol. never thought id be talking about this at quater to 12 at nite. :)

I've been thinking about this throghout the day. Mine is similar.

My life's summary would be an amaturely sanded (though sanded to the best ability of the sander) piece of wood. (Not sure exactly what kind though.) Most of the areas would be smooth and pleasing to the touch, but some areas would have rough splintery areas here and there, to really dig in at the most inopportune times. The grains would be slightly protruding to tell the story of the most memorable moments.

An adventure is only an inconvenience rightly considered. An inconvenience is an adventure wrongly considered.

I would be a silver arrow, straight and to the point. Sharp enough to pierce through weak or soft material but always having direction.

That is neat. A Silver Arrow....... How creative with a dramatic flare. I'm not sure what I would be.

Nemisis- Balsa wood is easy to bend but that does not matter. Your idea is neat.

I think I would like to be something like the Elven Cloaks in Lord of the Rings. If need be I could blend in.

Yeah, ive been thinking about this a little more, and balsa wood is a too little inflexible and brittle. I think some kind of mould that would shape whatever touched it. It would usually return to its original shape unless the thing that was hitting it was important enough to leave a lasting impression.

This is superb post.... I love the idea......
If I were to be blind and one day get a chance to feel something that summed up my life... its most probably going to be something bright, soft with the feeling of enlightenment and joy...... :)
