The president of the John S and James L Knight Foundation, which conducted the research, said: "Ignorance about the basics of this free society is a danger to this nation's future."

The survey concluded that better teaching and a bigger emphasis on student journalism could raise awareness of the First Amendment in American classrooms.

I am telling you Sigsfried, greater awareness is the key to all of our problems. No one can be oppressed unless you suppress their awareness.

If parents don't teach their children historical lessons from their own experiences, adding the nuance of reality that text lacks, they are bound to make mistakes in their judgment. This will cause them to make the same mistakes as the generation before them, delaying human progress.

It isn't the freedom that is the problem, but the ignorance.

Everyone should know that with great power comes great responsibility, as told to Peter Parker by uncle Ben in Spider Man. Power without responsible use leads to evil and is the cause of most human suffering.

I don't agree with the Freedom I just wondered if the popular opinion was that freedom of speech was too much.
