Again, human beings amaze me. There are problems in the world but no one cares until it affects them directly. Calling Michael Jackson a freak is calling yourself a copycat. You do not know why he does what he does, you only repeat what the media has told you.

Don't let a public persona, or even public opinion, cause you to forget that someone is a fellow human being. I am not a fan of Michael Jackson but I am a fan of humanity.

I am sure that each of us can recall a time in our lives where something was said about our character that was not true, or at least misconstrued. The problem with the world is that people care more about fitting in than they do about what is right. In fact, many will reject the truth in order to be accepted, examine history.

What you say Phix could well be correct but I would have to say that generally I don't care much about him and as such what I hear about him I will not try to discover the truth of it. Issues which I regard as imporatant it is a diffrent matter however I have little or no regard for celebraity this does not mean I do not respect there privacy I just ignore them. Same with Big Brother and that I'm a Celberity get me out of here. I know the names of the shows but rarely the names of any of the contestants. It is I think a sad culture we live in that celebrities are more well known than our politicians or scientists.

I definitely agree with that. But also look closer to see something else.

Politicians and scientist compel people to participate in reality.
Entertainers help people escape from it.

A celebrity is someone who is celebrated because of their achievements.

To celebrate the achievements of entertainers over those of the scientist and politicians indicate a deeper problem.

Society is more excited by what isn't real than what is.

As I said before the label of entertainer, or politician, or even scientist is just that, a label given by society. Thats fine so long as people remember that each of them is first and foremost a human being.

God has made us, but if we allow church and state to define who and what we are overall, we live in fantasy and not reality. All groups and roles we play keep us divided by hiding our basic nature which is our common bond.

Scientist solve universal mysteries. Politicians address human problems.

Entertainment keeps us oblivious to the both.
