Folks who enjoy visiting the Quotations Page may also enjoy reading the famous Diary of Samuel Pepys. prizzlesprung encourages those who want to read Pepys to acquire the relatively inexpensive 11 paperback volumes edited by Robert Latham and William Matthews. You get 1 volume for each of the 9 years of the Diary plus a very useful companion volume and a good index. There is one odd problem with the scholarly work that those volumes contain. Everytime Pepys leaves the English language when recounting his wooing of the women of his day, the scholars provide tantamount to zero help.
A web site maintained by Duncan Grey attempts, among many other things, to remedy the problem that the scholars failed to address. If you go to Google and search for the Samuel Pepys Home Page you can promptly find your way to Duncan's web site. When you arrive click on "Coded Passages". If you have some expertise in translation Duncan will probably welcome your thoughts.
Coridally,
prizzlesprung
