I'm posting here for the first time, arriving to discover the actual quote by someone named Sallust:

"Few men desire liberty; most men wish only for a just master." SALLUST

* * *

So I thought I would propose something fun and informative :o

Who qualifies as the most quotable presidential candidate in the race?
List your five favorite quotes from your favorite 2004 presidential contender! And then a poll can be hosted.

Now, these guys like Sallust spoke to another people in a far different sort of republic in a way-different time.

I'm starting this off with quotes by Aaron Russo, http://russoforpresident.com/

QUOTES BY AARON RUSSO:

"If America is doing better, as the politicians tell us, why does it take two or more people to support a household, when before, one person could handle it?"

"Don’t pay too much attention to what government says, but pay extremely close attention to what they do."

"The American people are on a treadmill for financial survival."

"The security of America requires, and depends on, the willingness and the ability of 280 million Americans to provide for their own security and to come to the defense of their fellow Americans when the situation requires it."

"You own your life and the FDA has no right to limit your options as to how you choose to cure yourself."

OK contenders--let's see 'em!!

:D

I read this some place & have no idea who said the following:

"Our President is a Fool, lucky I didn't Vote for Him" :wink:
