If this is possible in all cases, would you be interested in knowing how many days you still have to live? Thanks.

I can answer this in two short words: hell noooo... I love not knowing anything that's going to happen to this walking accident, especially the date of my death... I live each day as they come, I don't want to say, oh, so many days until I die left...

No,

I don't want to live my life in dread of the day when I will die. I know that there are other philosophical approaches I could take, but realistically, you know we would live dreading it.

I'm watching the Bucket List at school and we were talking about this... I personally would want to know. I know I live my life for the future. I go to school because it will be better for me in the future. I do this and that because it will be better for me in the future. I focus on the future so much because I always believe that there will be a future, I never think of tomorrow being my last day. I'd want to know when I'm going to die because I know it would make me live more for the moment and it would allow me to enjoy what is going on around me rather then living a life always planing for the future.

It's cool not to live a carpediem life, I do that too, I think it's important to think about your future, since it's the only way to really serve your community. It would be less exciting if you knew what comes though, doubt is a part of humanity, if you take that away, along with emotion, there wouldn't be too much left.

Knowing the day that you will die does not mean living a carpe diem life. Carpe diem is living every day as it if it was your last, but if you were to know the day that you are going to die you wouldn't have to live a carpe diem life. You would still look to the future but you would not have to focus on living your life just for the future. Instead you would work on living your life to enjoy the present moments and to make sure you accomplish everything you want to accomplish before you die.

I wouldn't want to know. I will die when I'm supposed to die. I feel that if I knew when I was going to die that I would end up doing tons of things I never wanted to achieve, but suddenly knowing when would push me to extremes. Putting my goals on the back burner, and rushing to do everything else. I hate rushing too, so I don't feel that I would really be living.

Actually I am not sure it would be a bad thing to know. Though doubtless knowing would make me more likely to take risks in the short term, but it may also give me motivation that I sometimes lack.

I would like to know, yes, but that's liable to change.

On one hand, knowing would be an incentive for me to do some things that I would want to do before I die... giving me the proper chance to have closure with some folks, enjoying the time I have now, etc. etc.

BUT - there is nothing I hate more than a deadline. As I edge to two days before I die, knowing, then would I wish to not know? Would I be dissatisfied with the way I spent my time, knowing? But, would I dissatisfied in that regard if I DIDN'T know too?

I don't know.
I suppose it's better that way.
