I don't think England has a chance in the Ashes. I can't actually see the winning a Test against a competent team, look at how they struggled in the Windies and Lord's was in ideal conditions for the England attack if the weather had been much different I doubt they would have done so well.

England is in a transition phase with old players hanging their boots and new ones joining in. Infact they have found a nice replacement in Bopara at No#3 --- where after Nasseir Hussain it was a difficult spot to fill.
Kevins form in the IPL was dissapointment and the Flintoff injury -- a big loss.

I get the feeling that English cricket is not going to survive a huge amount longer. County Cricket cannot keep going unless it can get more people in. I suppose 20-20 could start to dominate but it just isn't the same.

I believe the longest test match was 9 days, before being declared a draw as England had to leave to catch the boat home (England vs S, Africa)

Terrible fielding especially in the final over. Well all the confidence from beating the W.Indies is gone now.

So something weird going on. England beating India at 20-20 especially with the way they played against S. Africa is a huge shock.

Well, first Ashes Test. A lucky draw for England. Anyone think the England side didn't play in the spirit of the game (the way they used the 12th man mostly is what they have been critcised for). I can't see England taking the series this time
