Bowler: Keep throwing the little balls until they chase you from the field.
Batsman: Keep hitting the balls until they stop coming!

I actually read "Batman" and was ready for a riveting account of said masked avenger weeding out wretched hives of scum and villainy everywhere.
To say I was disappointed is an understatement.
I really don't know that much about cricket beyond the tidbits of information I picked up in Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

So Rugby good. Cricket bad. Got it. I don't know much about any sport except tennis and mountain climbing.

I believe that batman is a fan of spelunking and base jumping.

Also of Superman. They're so gay for each other. At least according to my ex-girlfriend who was something of a comic aficionado.

The best description of cricket I ever saw
"Each man that's in the side that's in goes out, and when he's out he comes in and the next man goes in until he's out. When they are all out, the side that's out comes in and the side that's been in goes out and tries to get those coming in, out. Sometimes you get men still in and not out. When a man goes out to go in, the men who are out try to get him out, and when he is out he goes in and the next man in goes out and goes in..."
brilliant because it makes perfect sense to anyone who understands it but is meaningless to everyone else.

"brilliant because it makes perfect sense to anyone who understands it but is meaningless to everyone else."
The most succinct description of cricket.

And the outright shocking news that England won a Test Match with 2 days to spare.
