Who can analyse themselves - bound to be a biased view :?

Much rather indulge in a little wishful thinking -

Moi - La Grande Duchesse

But don't you have the slightest opinion on who you are? :?

Oh, okay.

I'm 20, 21 come March 26.

I'm an uncivilized lout from the Balkans with a pretty flattering view of himself, which is largely, though not completely justified. :P

I come from a place that's been the playground of the European empires (plus the Ottomans) for as far back as anyone can remember or their great great great great great great grandparents would have remembered had they been alive, and I'm pretty pissed about that.

I've spoken with many "european citizens" in person and I can't get over the fact that they've constantly made it known that they view me and my compatriots as lower class human beings, even though these fuckers did perpetuate a mask of politeness and decorum which is so crucial to their view of civilization. But enough of my frustrations... let's move on to how I perceive myself, since that was the point of the thread.

Offline, I can come across as pretty indolent and smug (I've been accused of these faults even by people I deem close to me), though I'm prone to occasional spells of rabid idealism and enthusiastic delirium which come increasingly less often and last shorter that the previous ones.
I'm pretty perceptive and skeptical, though I do try hard not to descend into cynicism.

I'm loyal to my friends, respectful of my family, but will never feign blindness when a problem arises. I tell it as it is. I find that sincerity is better than ignoring the elephant in the room until it sits on your head.

I like to write, though mostly for my own pleasure, I sing and play the guitar (this summer we go busking cross-Balkans) and if I could travel for 20 years without stopping anywhere longer than a month, that's what I'd do.

Sometimes I can be loud and obnoxious, though most of the time I'm the guy that reconciles my friends when they jump at each other's throats.
I hate crowds and prefer a close circle of good friends I can count on when times are tough.

I chain-smoke, am a social drinker and an occasional pothead. I'm far from a health freak, but I like my veggies and eat a lot of fruit.

Um... I keep a cat named Demon (Демон in Macedonian) and no- I don't listen to heavy metal music. I hate that crap. He really looks like one. No horns, though.

I like sprawling, quiet forests and mountains and I use every chance I get to run away from the schizophrenia of (post?)modernity.

I'm a pacifist at heart, though I love shooting guns and have been shooting them since I was twelve, when my father let me use his scoped Zastava 7.62x39 Bolt Action Hunting Rifle. I've been in love with it ever since. :P

I read lots and prefer Russian literature, though of course I have my favourites amongst non-Russian writers too.

I'm bored with this, and you probably gave up on it long before I did, so there.

*yawn*

An aging hippie tired of politics and the influence of religion. I most love art and literature and music and the old-fashioned notions of romance and love. Okay, so I'm not a true-blue hippie. I have a degree in accounting and an MBA. But I'm not exactly the business type although that's how I made a living in my early days.

These days I just fumble around attempting to understand this weird weird world, and yes a joint and a glass of wine feels good once in awhile.

I'm Nobody! Who are you?

Are you Nobody too?

Then there's a pair of us?

Don't tell! they'd advertise you know!

How dreary to be Somebody!

How public like a Frog

To tell one's name the livelong June

To an admiring Bog!

- stolen from Emily Dickinson

I am me.
A human being that has accumalated all the baggage, wonder and belief or disbelief, and therefore grown a personality in my short time here. I am me and I am part of you.
