I'm confused. How has he inspired your writing? And why is he a great writer?

Yes he is a good writer but sometimes he can be too pessimistic that I can never understand why he is writing like this or he really gets the world like this. If u know the reasons let me know...
I just love his thoughts about short story writing style and literature. He says great and really true things...

I love Berenice. It's probably the creepiest of Edgar Allan Poe's stories. If you haven't read it, give it a turn.

I am also a big fan of Poe, two of my favortie short stories by him would have to be the pit and the pendulum, and the angel of the odd. I suggest you check them out if you haven't already.

Okay i know i'm going a little off topic here, but another well written, creepy short story would have to be The Most Dangerous Game i don't remember who wrote it, but is very good

I love Poe, he is one of my most loved writers. I enjoy his bleak look on life and how his words are all that is required to evoke such strong emotions. He may be a very dreary writer, but I find that he is the only writer that can fully describe the pain, the dark side of one's own heart, that most men ignore. His stories describe the pain in the human heart. I am a very big fan of The House of Usher, and The Raven, but I enjoy most of his stories. So far, I have yet to find one story of his that I did not enjoy.

I have read as I suggest you do also, ALL of E. A Poe's work. You will be amazed how nearly half of it of, course is dark, opiated and problemmatical, His Poems are exceptional vis Ullaume, And much of his pose is hysterically funny and inventive in a playful way. CHECK IT OUT!
