Our next assignment for English is to read a biography. Any suggestions? I was told Ulysses S. Grant has a great one. I'm looking for a good intriguing read. Some of mine were G.F. Handel or Walt Disney, maybe.
Gimme something.

Alexander Hamilton
He came from the most miserable, disadvantaged childhood you could imagine.
He was a brilliant young man, at Washington's side in his early twenties.
He set up many of the United States institutions. He probably invented the America as we know it today. Jefferson wanted a nation of "gentleman farmers". Hamilton had a greater vision.

Yes, I agree! Some good ones that I have read are:
- The Lion Children (Angus, Maisie & Travers McNeice)
- Next of Kin (Roger Fouts)
- The Story of my Life (Helen Keller)

The first black general in the United State, the Secretary of the State, ...? I wonder what his name is, but I have definitely read his autobiography, which is wonderful.

Ahh, yeah I did my research a little bit and I do recognize that. That shall be my biography of choice. Benigne, Nick.

I'm very interested in the history of Tsarist Russia and the life of the last Tsar and Tsarina of Russia, Nicholas and Alexandra. Some excellent biographies are The Last Tsar: The Life And Death Of Nicholas II
by Edvard Radzinsky, and Last Empress: The Life and Times of Alexandra Feodorovna, Tsarina of Russia by Greg King.
