Please read this, it's a poem i wrote and i want to see what people think of it.
Layers
Brush me off, and suffer I shall not;
Shove me back, and place me out of thy mind;
Not likely to be needed, thou can live without me;
Something that is taken for-granted, yet often seen without.
Protecting, yet confining, feeling all, yet still able to feel alone;
So protective, yet so bound by conformities;
Soil like air, water like life, vibrantly glowing in the darkness;
Glowing proudly in the light.
Stretch out, reach out so far, wiggle your fingers in bliss;
Pull in what you wish, yet still reaching, everything is within reach;
Death is life, sound is silence, black is white;
I am an onion, and yet I am myself.

I like it a lot. It sounds like the character is missing something.
