My god that was a good book! By the way War Breaks out, another book by John Knowles, sitll can't add up to it.
I personally think the symbolism in A Spereate Piece falls into the Tree. It is in the beggining of the story that Gene satras to narratae, reminicing back onto the tree and the site later on that robs Finny of in esencse, himself. Gene is also a waking talking symbol. He is a perfect example that enmity and jealousy are two of the ugliest sides of human nature and can cause irrational behavior towards it's source.
You're paper is probaly already done, but I hope this might have been some help. ^____^ That, I swear is my favorite book. TT I just don't reccomend you watch the 70's version of the movie. Gene's eyebrows look like it's just a unibrow while Finny looks like he doesnt have any at all. It also breaks out into song during the "court scene". ....it was quite ...dissapointing.
